We are pleased to announce that Drs. Susan Birch, Luke Clark, Liisa Galea, and Catharine Winstanley have been awarded Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Discovery Grants.
- Susan Birch was awarded $28,000 towards her research project A Systematic Examination of How a Speaker’s Linguistic and Paralinguistic Cues Affect Children’s and Adults’ Learning and Memory
- Luke Clark received $39,000 towards his research on the neural and cognitive representation of money in decision-making
- Liisa Galea received $139,479 for her research project Multiplex immunoassay electrochemiluminescence system and touchscreen chambers for examining signally molecules related to cognition
- Catharine Winstanley was awarded $48,000 towards her research project Deciphering decision making: exploring the interactions between neural and neurochemical systems underlying the evaluation versus employment of cognitive effort in rats

Along with the Discovery Grants, these UBC Psychology graduate and postdoctoral students were awarded NSERC Graduate Scholarships and Fellowships.
