The award is given in the name of a living Professor Emeritus/Emerita who has made a significant contribution to the Faculty of Arts and has been an inspiration to the award recipient. Dr. Hall named Psychology Professor Emeritus Dr. Richard Tees as his co-recipient.

“I'm delighted to name my award in honour of Dr. Richard Tees. Richard was the Head of the Department of Psychology for many years, including some of my years as a junior faculty member. His impact on our department and our faculty was truly transformational, and I'll always be grateful to him for the support and kindness he showed me throughout my career.”
