Language Science Talks: SSHRC Gold Medal Speaker Series announced

UBC Language Sciences presents Language Science Talks, a series of talks by leading researchers in the language sciences from around the world. The first five talks are partly sponsored by the SSHRC Gold Medal awarded to Dr. Janet Werker, Canada Research Chair in Psychology at UBC, in recognition of the pioneering discoveries Dr. Werker has made in early childhood language acquisition.
Beginning in January 2017, these talks are being held in conjunction with a new graduate-level course ‘Language Development in Infancy and Childhood‘, and will focus on topics in this area.
The talks will be held in the Auditorium at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum (2212 Main Mall). Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend the talks. For more information, please visit www.languagesciences.ubc.ca
