World university rankings recognize UBC Psychology for its excellence in teaching and research as well as its global impact.

UBC’s Department of Psychology rose two spots, from twelfth to tenth, in the 2020 Times Higher Education (THE) global rankings by subject. The department also retained its ranking of number one in Canada by THE.

The 2020 psychology ranking includes 494 universities, up from 463 last year.

THE’s World University Rankings’ table for psychology subjects uses the same rigorous and balanced range of 13 performance indicators as the overall World University Rankings, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields. It highlights the universities that are leading across psychology; educational, sport, business and animal psychology; and clinical psychology subjects. View methodology.

UBC Psychology also placed first in Canada in the 2020 Maclean’s subject rankings.
