Ashley Whillans
Congratulations goes out to UBC Psychology PhD student Ashley Whillans, recipient of a 2015 Killam Graduate Teaching Assistant Prize. UBC annually awards teaching prizes to UBC teaching assistants in recognition of the valuable role that they play in undergraduate programs.
The prize includes a certificate and $1,000. Successful candidates will have met criteria that result in a high level of respect from undergraduate students and academic supervisors.
“The Killam Graduate Teaching Assistant Prize is the most prestigious award at UBC recognizing outstanding contributions to undergraduate education from graduate students,” says Michael Souza, Senior Instructor & Associate Head, Undergraduate Affairs, UBC Psychology. “I’m very pleased that Ashley Whillans has been selected for one of these prizes. This is Psychology’s second consecutive year of bringing home a successful applicant (Benjamin Cheung from 2014) and I’m hopeful we can continue to compete for this prize at the highest level for years to come.”
