Kristin Laurin
As an emerging researcher in the field of psychology, Dr. Kristin Laurin was named a CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholar in the program’s 2017 cohort. The program brings together early career researchers who are leading exceptional work, and helps to foster their research networks and leadership.
Dr. Laurin is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and leads UBC’s MAGIC lab, where she explores the complexities in the understanding of goals, motivation and religion. She also recently received an International Social Cognition Network (ISCON)’s Early Career Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Study of Social Cognition.
The key goal of CIFAR is to unite the upcoming generation of researchers and investigators. CIFAR President and CEO, Dr. Alan Bernstein expresses that “the future of research depends on young people, and their energy and innovative thinking is key to developing new approaches for the challenges facing our world today. We are thrilled to provide opportunities for these emerging research leaders.”
