Four new faculty members join UBC Psychology

The Department of Psychology is excited to introduce our newest faculty members.

Learn more about their background, research, and what they like to do when they’re not in the lab or classroom.

Dr. Jill Dosso, Lecturer
Dr. Dosso’s research explores how people interact with smart technologies such as social robots, generative AI, and health wearables—and she wants to understand how these technologies impact her student’s lives.

Dr. Jessica Flake, Assistant Professor, Quantitative Area
Dr. Flake’s research focuses on the development of measurement practices for psychological research with an emphasis on instrument development and use, particularly in large-scale research settings.

Dr. Hee-Yeon Im, Assistant Professor, Cognitive Area
Using behavioural measurements and neuroimaging methods in adults and children, Dr. Im aims to understand how we see and interact with the world around us.

Dr. Joan Ongchoco, Assistant Professor, Cognitive Area
Dr. Ongchoco’s research is driven by her curiosity about how perception, particularly visual perception, intersects with various aspects of mental life.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Dosso, Dr. Flake, Dr. Im, and Dr. Ongchoco!
