UBC’s Department of Psychology is a top-ranked research department in Canada and in the world. Our 58 faculty members and 132 full-time graduate students and postdoctoral fellows conduct research across the spectrum of psychology, representing eight sub-disciplinary specializations: Behavioural Neuroscience, Clinical, Cognitive Science, Developmental, Health, Quantitative Methods, Social/Personality and Teaching/Learning.

Research highlights:

  • Our interactive Living Lab at Vancouver’s Science World aims to make science fun for kids and parents, while improving our understanding of early child development.
  • A Centre for Gambling Research at UBC has been established to advance our understanding of gambling psychology and help reduce problem gambling behaviours.
