Positive Experience Study

The Happy Lab is recruiting first-year students for the Positive Experience Study.

Are you a First-Year Student? Do you want $20 Or 2.5 HSP credits? Sign up for the Positive Experience Study today! This study explores how loneliness and stress during the first year can be curbed.

Participation involves a 30-minute lab visit, using Discord, and completing daily surveys for two weeks—no more than 5 minutes per day.

Study description

This multi-part study consists of several brief surveys. If you agree to participate, you will first be invited to the Social Cognition and Emotion Lab, where you will be asked to install the Discord application on your phone and complete a short survey with questions about yourself. Your first visit will take no more than 30 minutes.

You will also be asked to provide your phone number so that, over the next 14 days, you can participate via Discord. During this period, you may be asked to share your thoughts or everyday experiences with other participants and to complete 14 daily one-minute surveys sent to your phone. On Day 15, you will complete a brief post-study survey. These surveys will include questions about your general mood, your interactions, and your feelings.
