About
I study the relationship between cognition and motion in young adults. For example, does physical activity improve cognitive performance? Does cognitive load change the dynamics of gait? I’m primarily interested in developing new methodological approaches to assessing physical activity and gait in real world environments.
Research
At a broad level I’m interested in how physical activity, gait, and executive function are related. However, there are many problems with traditional methods of physical activity and gait measurement. Most of my works focuses on developing new ways to measure gait in natural environments (e.g. smartphone sensors), or using data visualization and machine learning techniques to identify latent structure in physical activity data.
