TRUDEAU FELLOWSHIPS – Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation
Research Areas: Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences
Description: Every year, the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation recognizes fellows who have set themselves apart through their research achievements, their creativity, and their social commitment to one or more of the Foundation’s four themes. Trudeau fellows are selected in light of their leadership, their productivity, their reputation, and their ability to communicate. Candidates must be active in the social sciences and humanities and must work in an area related to one or more of the Foundation’s four themes: http://www.trudeaufoundation.ca/en/themes
The Trudeau Fellowships are of a total value of $225,000 and fellows are appointed for a mandate of three years. The Trudeau Foundation does not accept direct applications. The Office of the V.P. Research & International will forward candidate material on UBC’s behalf. Self-nominations are not permissible.
Preliminary Selection – Documents required by October 14, 2014:
1) Two Page Summary: Please outline the candidate’s strengths based on the Trudeau Fellowship criteria of
leadership, productivity, reputation, communication and involvement. Please include a brief
overview of the proposed Trudeau project within the two page summary.
2) An updated Official UBC CV
Preliminary material should be submitted to brenda.carrier@ubc.ca . If a candidate is approved by Dr. John Hepburn, VP Research & International, and by President Gupta, we will then ask you to submit the full nomination package to brenda.carrier@ubc.ca by November 14, 2014.
