Recognizing a distinguished career: Dr. Wolfgang Linden receives Senior Investigator Award

Join us in congratulating Dr. Wolfgang Linden, recipient of the Senior Investigator Award from the Health Psychology section of the Canadian Psychological Association. This award recognizes the distinguished contributions of senior psychological clinicians in Canada.
Dr. Linden is a clinical psychologist and professor in the department of psychology at UBC. His work focuses on psychological factors in the etiology, prevention, and treatment of cardiovascular disorders and cancer.

“I’m flattered, happy, and grateful to receive this award,” says Linden. “It comes at a great time given that I can close off my career on a high note.”

This award comes at the end of a celebrated career in UBC’s department of psychology. Dr. Linden retires as full professor on June 30, 2018 but remains a member of the psychology community with emeritus status.
With over thirty years’ experience conducting research, as well as consulting in primary and chronic disease care, Linden developed a research program that bridges experimental research in the laboratory with descriptive and intervention studies in clinical populations. Linden has authored over 150 peer-reviewed journal publications and book chapters. He has published six books, including an undergraduate textbook in Clinical Psychology in 2011. His clinical affiliations included consultancies on the heart transplant team, the Provincial Heart Centre and the British Columbia Cancer Agency. Linden previously served as President of the British Columbia Psychological Association and President of the Canadian Psychological Association.
