Congratulations to UBC Psychology professors Christiane Hoppmann and Catharine Winstanley who were awarded the 2014/15 UBC Killam Research Prize, a university-wide award recognizing outstanding research and scholarly contributions at UBC.
Christiane Hoppmann
UBC honoured the recipients of the 2014 Faculty Research Awards at a reception at the Chan Centre on March 31, 2015. Winners of these peer-nominated awards were selected by UBC’s Faculty Research Award Committee, which spans arts and humanities, business, education, applied science, science, and medicine.
Dr. Hoppmann is an Associate Professor in health psychology and Canada Research Chair in Health and Adult Development in the Department of Psychology. Her research examines how key psychological factors such as social relationships and goals contribute to the successful mastery of challenges and foster healthy aging.
Catharine Winstanley
Dr. Winstanley is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology, a Michael Smith Early Career Scholar, a CIHR New Investigator and has received numerous awards for her research. Her research focused on exploring the neural and neurochemical basis of different forms of impulsivity.
