It’s time! We reached out to our psychology community to find out how the Pets of UBC Psych are celebrating the holiday season. Here’s a peek at the festive fun they’re having, including some in charming holiday costumes!
Galinda
Galinda (with a “Ga”, of course!) will be snugly celebrating Christmas with staff member Risa Murakami. This American Wirehair cat can be found cozily nestled under the Christmas tree, nibbling on a stick, or tightly embracing her favourite festive blanket.
Eby
Eby will join in the holiday celebrations with undergraduate student Eva Wong. When she’s not burrowing into blankets and pillows, the British Shorthair cat will squeeze into snug spaces as pictured! Despite Eby’s adorable appearance, Eva notes that Eby becomes quite grumpy when she has to wear her winter vest.
Sesame & Skadi
Sesame and Skadi are both thrilled to spend Christmas cozying up for the winter. While nibbling on treats and snuggling with undergraduate student Audrey Cheung, the Netherland dwarf rabbit can be seen sporting a tiny Santa hat and turning into a fluffy ball. Skadi, sharing Sesame’s love for food, opts for a chic red and white furry neck warmer to ward off the winter chill.
HoneyB & Darby
Back with another dynamic duo, HoneyB (also affectionately known as ScoochiVonDoochie) and Darby are ready to celebrate Christmas in style! HoneyB is all set to spread the holiday spirit in an adorable Santa outfit, with Darby happily joining in the festive escapades. Undergraduate student Jane Christiana reveals that Darby, the larger of the two, is rather awkward, making for a very quirky Christmas!
Milo
Milo steps into the Christmas season in style with a charming festive bow, proudly displaying his decorated tree to all interested parties! This Miniature Schnauzer will spend the holidays snuggled up against the cold with undergraduate student Akash Grewal.
Milly, Rosie, & Jasper
The lively trio of Milly, Rosie, and Jasper are gearing up for a joyous Christmas with undergraduate student Jenna Miket. Milly keeps it stylish with a twinkling Santa hat and a snug mini sweater that complements her black and white coat. Rosie, the Tabby, joins in looking smart yet playful in a red-and-white bowtie, while Jasper, the poodle, adds his own touch to the festivities with an adorable festive scarf!
Jelly
Jelly is eager to flaunt the ultra-cute and cozy Santa outfit! The Labrador will be celebrating the festive Christmas season with undergraduate student Manya Sethi, jingling all the way.
Floyd & Freddie
Floyd and Freddie are looking forward to a snug holiday, cuddled up among a pile of festive knit blankets! The Maine Coon and mixed-breed cats will be welcoming the winter solstice with staff member Tara Martin.
