The PSA Team


The Psychology Students’ Association (PSA) of UBC is a student-run organization that seeks to enhance the personal, professional and academic success of Arts and Science undergraduate students who are interested in psychology. The Psychology Students’ Association provides students with academic resources by connecting students to various psychology related events and opportunities. In addition, PSA works to create a more fun and close community among Psychology students that extends outside of the classroom environment.

President – Bowen Li

Bowen is a 4th year Psychology major. Besides his role as the President of Psychology Students’ Association, he is also the Psychology representative in the Arts Undergraduate Society council. Bowen currently works in the UBC Vision Lab and Social Cognition & Emotion Lab. In addition, he works part time assisting the Shares Manager in Anglo-Bomarc Mines Ltd. In the future, he hopes to attend law school or get into a social psychology graduate program.
 
VP Arts Academics – Cindy Choi

Cindy is a 4th year student in Psychology with a minor in Law and Society. She is currently working at the Interpersonal Lab as a Directed Studies student and as a research assistant. In the future, she hopes to get into graduate school in clinical psychology to become a clinical psychologist.
 
VP Science Academics – Mohit Sodhi

Mohit is a 4th year student in the Biopsychology program. Last year, he worked as an undergraduate research student in the Neural Circuits and Cognition lab. He is currently the President for YNOTFORTOTS and is the Treasurer for UBC Project PATHS. He also dedicates a lot of his time in the clinical setting working as a Behavioral Interventionist and working in a private pediatric physiotherapy clinic. He hopes to complete his MD to become a neurologist or neurosurgeon.
 
Departmental Relations Officer- Dylan Meng

Dylan is a fourth year student in the Biopsychology program. He currently works as a Directed Studies student in the Social Health Lab and as an research assistant in the Environmental Cognition Lab. He hopes to get in to medical school and aspires to become a psychiatrist in the future.
 
 Internal Coordinator – Emily Jeong

Emily is a 4th year Psychology student in the Faculty of Arts. She is interested in how psychology can be applied in a business setting. She is currently working in a lab in OBHR division of the Sauder School of Business studying the relationship between perceived wait time and aggression. She also a member of the Consulting Club at UBC. In the future, she would like to work in management consulting.
 
Membership Coordinator – Jenny Ho

Jenny is a 5th year Psychology and English Literature double major in the Arts Co-op Program. She is working as a research assistant in Dr. Peter Suedfeld’s REST Lab for over two years. Currently, she is also involved with the Arts Co-op Students’ Association and volunteers at the Canucks Family Education Centre. She also serves as a student representative at the Faculty of Arts meetings. In the future, Jenny hopes to pursue the Bachelor of Education and the Counselling Psychology programs.
Academic Coordinator – Stephanie Yeh

Stephanie is a 4th-year Psychology major. She is devoted to creating a community of learners among students. Personal experiences have fueled her interest in examining and studying the integrated biopsychosocial influences on behaviour, cognitive appraisals, and health, especially within the rehabilitational context. She has served as a research assistant in Dr. Frances Chen’s Social Health Lab and with Dr. Luke Clark at the Centre for Gambling Research. In the future, Stephanie hopes to pursue a career in occupational therapy.
External Coordinator- Aaron Yen

Aaron is a 3rd year student studying Statistics in the Faculty of Science. He is involved in club activities as a MiniClub Executive for the UBC Food Society and Marketing Director for the CantoNation Cantonese teaching club. He is currently working with students in all faculties on developing online social media applications. In the future, he hopes to create a business portfolio alongside marketing and analytics firms while building a business.
Faculty Advisor- Dr. Michael Souza

Dr. Souza is a faculty member in Psychology. With teaching, he is interested in understanding how brain networks are affected by psychological illness and neurological injury. With student advising, he is interested in creating and advancing innovative opportunities that promote student engagement and success. He is the faculty advisor of a number of student organizations here at UBC.
