Kristin Laurin
In recognition of her research accomplishments, Dr. Kristin Laurin received the International Social Cognition Network (ISCON)’s Early Career Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Study of Social Cognition.
“It was definitely a surprise and a huge honour to receive this award,” says Laurin, who joined the department of psychology in 2016 as assistant professor. “I’m so grateful to the people who nominated me. I’m excited to have a chance to share my work with this distinguished group in March.”
Dr. Laurin is the director of the MAGIC lab, where she studies how various motivations can shape people’s beliefs and ideologies. More.
ISCON’s early career award aims to recognize and encourage a distinguished junior scientist who has made outstanding theoretical and empirical contributions to the understanding of social cognition. The award is based on originality, quality, and impact of scientific research in the study of social cognition. The award winner will present a distinguished address at the SPSP Social Cognition Preconference in Atlanta, GA, in March 2018.
