Dr. Conner Kerns is shaping the future of clinical psychology by inspiring and mentoring the next generation of scholars and practitioners.
Dr. Connor Kerns, an associate professor in the department of psychology at UBC, is a recipient of a 2025 Dean of Arts Mentorship award for her outstanding commitment to guiding and inspiring the next generation of scholars.
This award celebrates exceptional mentors within the Faculty of Arts. It recognizes faculty members who are committed to the academic and personal growth of junior colleagues, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students, and who foster a community of integrity, inclusion and respect.

Colleagues and mentees commend Dr. Kerns for her personalized and inclusive mentorship. She supports conference participation, fosters scholarly networks, and encourages student-led initiatives like the Community Advisory Board to engage with the autism community. She also mentors early undergraduates and has developed an autism-focused curriculum that promotes critical thinking and collaboration.
