On December 7, the Department of Psychology hosted a table at the Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability’s Open House for Faculty. This was a chance for Psychology CIRS Inhabitants to connect with UBC faculty across many disciplines and share their social and climate sustainability work.
Psychology joined other CIRS inhabitants to showcase resources on:
- UBC Psychology research on sustainability behaviour and Happy Climate, a free workshop developed by Dr. Elizabeth Dunn and Dr. Jiaying Zhao (download poster)
- Enriching course content: including the Climate Teaching Connector
- Fellowships: including the Sustainability Fellows and Centre for Community Engaged Learning (CCEL) Fellows programs
- Faculty support: including the UBC Office of Wellbeing Strategy and Indigenous Research Support Initiative (IRSI)
- Student opportunities: including Sustainability Scholars and Catalyst programs
- Sustainability on campus including SEEDS sustainability program, Campus as a Living Lab, and Green Labs
- Community engagement: including Social Impact Labs, Climate Emergency Actions and Recommendations, and the Food Hub Market
Guests who attended were also treated to festive holiday refreshments—and prizes and draws!
Psychology thanks the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts and UBC Film and Theatre for their generous prize donations. The Chan Centre gifted two tickets to any Chan Centre Presents concert and UBC Film and Theatre gifted two tickets to the performance The Wolves, taking place in February 2023.
We thank everyone for visiting our table and to CIRS for hosting this event!
