2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the Douglas T. Kenny Building.
On May 9, 2024, the psychology community came together to celebrate 40 years of research excellence, fond memories, and the enduring legacy of Douglas T. Kenny.
To commemorate this significant milestone, Tara Martin, director of administration, and Dr. Peter Suedfeld, professor emeritus, delivered remarks on behalf of the department. Dr. Suedfeld was instrumental to the construction of the building during his time as department head.
The event also featured psychology historical artifacts, a slideshow, and a display of the At Home in Space Flight Kit. Led by Dr. Phyllis Johnson and Dr. Peter Suedfeld, At Home in Space was Canada’s first psychosocial experiment on board the International Space Station (ISS). A psychology banner and an At Home in Space badge reached new heights on the ISS!

The event was a chance to reminisce and gather with colleagues, old and new, and indulge in 1980s nostalgia at the 80’s Photo Booth!
We thank everyone for joining us at the event and for making 40 years of memories together!
