Congratulations to Francis Yuen for receiving 2023-2024 Killam Graduate Teaching Assistant Award for his outstanding contributions as UBC Psychology Teaching Assistant.

The Killam Graduate Teaching Assistant Award recognizes those who will have demonstrated skills, abilities and contributions that result in a high level of respect from undergraduate students and academic or course supervisors.

Francis Yuen is a PhD student in the developmental psychology program, working with Dr. J. Kiley Hamlin at the Centre for Infant Cognition. Since 2020, Francis has held eight TA appointments and served 729 students at UBC. Francis’ teaching philosophy centers around fostering learning experiences that are active, fun, and accessible. He received the Killam Graduate Teaching Award in recognition of his hands-on and personalized approach to teaching, as well as his commitment to ensuring all students have the opportunity to flourish at UBC.
