TITLE
Promoting child mental well-being and effective parent-teacher support
ABSTRACT
This talk will describe a program of research aimed at promoting child mental well-being and effective parent-teacher support. A series of studies will be presented examining how attention, behaviour, and cognitions relate to each other for families and youth with challenges with inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and/or impulsivity. The important role of cognitions, in particular self-efficacy and attributions, will be highlighted. Such research has the ultimate goal of improving psychological assessments and interventions for families, classrooms, and youth.
