This summer, the Psychology Department is forming two Communities of Practice (CoP) to address EDI issues in the department.
Communities of Practice are groups of people with common interest in a topic, who share resources and information to help each other learn about that topic and can provide a support system to make changes based on this knowledge. In addition, an aim of each Community of Practice will be to create an informational resource about the Community’s topic, to be disseminated within the department.
We will be facilitating two CoPs beginning this summer, one focused on Socioeconomics & Our Student Body, and one focused on Ableism & Disability Inclusion. We would love to have you join us– we are excited to have involvement from all areas of the Psychology community.
The first meetings of the CoPs are scheduled for:
- Socioeconomics & Our Student Body: Monday, June 26, 2:00-3:00 pm
- Ableism & Disability Inclusion: Wednesday, June 28, 11:00 am-12:00 pm
