About
Sakshi (she/her/hers) is a graduate student in the social/personality area at UBC, supervised by Dr. Friedrich Götz. She graduated with a BA in Psychology (with honours) from UBC in 2022 and her MA in 2024. She is broadly interested in understanding how the place shapes people and how people conversely affect the place. More specifically, she is interested in questions about personality and culture across space and time. With a Big Data and applied approach, she is keen to explore the real-world impact of culture and geography such as immigrant experiences and understanding regional personality/cultural differences. For instance, in one line of work, she has been exploring cultural variations in individual endorsement of and institutional social norm regulation.
Beyond this, she is committed to increasing diversity within psychological research by focusing a line of her work on non-Western populations.
Research
Geographical psychology, cultural psychology, personality psychology, social norms and translational science.
