Are you shy or socially anxious? Take part in our research. UBC’s Interpersonal Lab is looking for adults with social anxiety to participate in a study on UBC campus.
If you are interested, we will conduct a brief 10-20 minute phone interview to assess your eligibility. We are looking for individuals between the ages of 18-65 with:
- High social anxiety
- No depression, schizophrenia, psychosis, or current drug use.
If you are eligible, you will be invited into the lab for two sessions, scheduled one week apart. The first session will take 30 minutes and the second session will take 60 minutes. You will also complete one online questionnaire, for a total of a 2 hour experience. In the lab, you may be asked to make a short statement to a video camera. In both sessions, you will be asked to fill out questionnaires about your mood and your perception of yourself. At the end of the second session, you will participate in a 30-minute clinical interview. The study is held on UBC campus between the hours of 9am – 5:00pm. You will be compensated $60 for 1.5 hours of your time at UBC.
If interested, please contact us by phone or email, referencing Social Perception – Part 3 study, and leave us the following information:
- Your name
- Phone number
- Some times that we can contact you and speak to you on the phone for 10-15 minutes.
