Dr. Desiree Seib is a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Jason Snyder's lab at the University of British Columbia. During her postdoctoral studies, she has been addressing the role of neurogenesis in pattern separation and depressive-like behaviours.
My research vision is to understand the role of the hippocampus in memory and mood across the lifespan, with a focus on neurogenesis and depression. I use my experience in transgenic and non-transgenic rodent models together with my expertise in viral and molecular tools to visualize and manipulate hippocampal neurons and characterize their function in complex behaviours.
