Psychology Alumni recognized with UBC Alumni Builder Award

Two UBC Psychology alumni, Michelle Collens (BA’02) and Katherine U (BA’87; LLB’90) have been recognized with an Alumni Builder Award for their significant community contributions to the university.

The Alumni Builder Awards were established as part of alumni UBC 100, the alumni association’s centennial, to recognize alumni who, in their own way, have made important contributions to the success of UBC and its alumni community. The awards are presented by alumni UBC on the recommendation and in partnership with UBC’s faculties, advisory councils, and other leadership groups.

Michelle Collens

A Thunderbird volleyball alumna, Michelle is a dedicated municipal government professional who builds community through the sport tourism industry; bringing Olympic Qualifiers and Rugby 7s to the city. During this unique year, she transitioned from sport hosting to assist the City of Vancouver COVID-19 response team and the Give-A-Hand program.

Katherine U

Katherine and a team of alumni have built the Allard School of Law’s alumni community in Hong Kong, demonstrating an outstanding spirit of commitment and level of generosity to their alma mater.

Please join us in congratulating Michelle and Katherine on receiving this award for their service, dedication, and contributions to UBC and its alumni community.
