Congratulations to Dr. Jason Rights on being named a member of the prestigious Society of Multivariate Experimental Psychology.

Dr. Jason Rights , an associate professor in the department of psychology, has been elected to the Society of Multivariate Experimental Psychology (SEMP), for his outstanding scholarship in quantitative methodology.

“I'm excited and honored to be elected into SMEP. It's also neat that all four of our quantitative methods faculty are now members—go us!”
Associate Professor, UBC Psychology

Dr. Rights’ primary research focus is on addressing methodological complexities and developing statistical methods for multilevel/hierarchical data contexts.

SMEP was established in 1960 to promote the development of psychological theory and empirical findings through the use of multivariate modeling. The Society is comprised of 65 active members (plus additional emeritus members) who meet annually to discuss new research on quantitative methodology, as well as empirical applications in the areas of personality, social, cognitive, developmental, clinical, and health psychology. The Society's journal, Multivariate Behavioral Research, published by Taylor and Francis, has an impact rating that puts it in the top tier of methodological and statistical journals.
