Meet Fendi – Pets of UBC Psych

Meet Fendi “小芬” (lil’ Fen), a three-year-old domestic short hair calico cat.

According to undergraduate student Lucy Qiu, Fendi is an iPad kid.

“Fendi is an iPad kid who relentlessly stares at my iPad every time I’m on it, waiting for me to open her mouse catching game. She also loves playing fetch with my hair bands (I’ve lost at least 20 now) and dramatically flopping down when asking for food.”

Lucy adopted the mischievous calico cat after she was surrendered in Ontario. Lucy strong advocates for adopt don’t shop. “There are many sweet cats out there with amazing personalities that won’t disappoint you if you gave them a chance to flourish,” says Lucy. “I promise you they will be just as awesome as the cat you get from a breeder.”

About Fendi

When I first got Fendi in Guelph, Ontario as a kitty an elderly couple surrendered, I had gone empty handed due to being underprepared. The couple took 45 minutes just catching her because she was so devious and quick to dash! The couple asked me if I had a bag to carry her in. I shook my head and proceeded to carry her barehand all the way to the taxi. On our way back, Fendi meowed for the whole ride. Clearly upset to have been uprooted from her home. She hid under our couch for three days straight before I finally took her into my room, where she slowly warmed up and showed me her cuddly and clever personalty. 🙂
