Weekly Coffee Hour with Frances Chen

DATE
Tuesday November 27, 2018
TIME
10:30 AM - 10:30 AM

Each week, a different member of the department’s Equity Committee will be stationed at a coffee shop on campus, waiting for UBC Psychology faculty, staff, graduate or undergraduate students to drop by for a chat. If you have a concern related to equity or diversity, you can come to learn about existing resources, if you have a suggestion for the committee you can share it, or if you just want to chat about equity and diversity in the department, you’re welcome!
Frances Chen, Faculty
I grew up in the United States (Louisville, Kentucky, and Warner Robins, Georgia) and I moved around quite a bit before settling in Vancouver five years ago. Topics that I spend a lot of time thinking about include: how stress and social support affect our physical and mental health, and how our stereotypes about people’s ethnicity and gender affect how we interpret what they do and say. Please stop by to chat about any equity issues or questions that are on your mind!
