The Department of Psychology at the University of British Columbia – Vancouver campus invites applications for one part-time (40%) renewable 12-Month Lecturer position in Clinical Psychology (1 year contract). Teaching duties commence 1 September 2014.
The successful candidate is expected to teach 6 credits of on-campus graduate courses in clinical psychology and will supervise 2 clinical practicum sections (6 credits).
The post will include responsibility for the design, development, and production of teaching, learning and assessment materials; the delivery of seminars, lectures, workshops, practicums, and tutorials; and mentorship (of students and Teaching Assistants). Consideration for reappointment will be based on demonstrated excellence in teaching, service, and administrative duties, and availability of funding. The ideal candidate would be qualified to undertake concurrently the part-time administrative role of Clinic Director (an M&P staff position).
The successful applicant must have a PhD in clinical psychology or similar discipline. She or he will possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by considerable experience in developing and delivering university courses, and evidence of the use of a range of academic learning tools and delivery techniques to engage students. The successful applicant will have evidence of excellent teaching such as student evaluations and peer reviews, and will have made an impact on the discipline beyond their own teaching. The applicant will be expected to work flexibly and on their own initiative and will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to teach a range of courses within our clinical graduate program.
The starting salary for the position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
